*** Team Spirit at Ratoath Tennis Club *** A huge thank you to all the volunteers who turned up today to help out with the Club Cleanup. The weather was great, the team spirit was better, and the sambos and Snickers Ice Cream bars were a great way to top it all off. So a big shout out to the following for their help! - First on the scene, Algis Sarapas, his wife and three THREE kids. A particular shout out to their son Tomas (11) who hoovered the whole clubhouse on his own! Thank you to Mrs. Sarapas for re-planting all the big pots at the clubhouse! Check out the photos of the pots! - Mark Whitbread and his sons Jack and Calum. Thanks for all your help clearing the weeds etc. around the hedges and tidying up around the boundaries of the club. - John Cunningham arrived on the scene with a strimmer sticking out of the boot of his car, and subsequently strimmed about fifty acres of land! - David van den Berg and Gerald for helping out with the hedge along what will be the fifth court, hopefully very soon! - Graham Barry for offloading numerous wheelbarrows full of weeds, and trying to avoid photographs! Snared. - Director of Tennis Sheyi Dosunmu for tidying up and cleaning the whole clubhouse and fixing some bits and pieces that were broken! - President Pat OHare for keeping everyone to task and making sure that nobody was slacking. He did plenty work himself, mowing the grass along the road and doing multiple circuits of the court with a weedkiller sprayer to sort out the weeds. - Andrea for making a dash to the petrol station to get more fuel for the strimmers! - Ronan Halpenny for assisting John Cunningham with the strimming. - Lisa Halpenny and Heather Dosunmu for the most critical job of the lot; providing sambos, homemade biscuits, homemade banana muffins and not so homemade Snickers Ice Cream bars! All in all, a great days work. The club is looking great, hope you all enjoy it when you are next down! RTC Committee
