Texas Hill Country Dear Mom and Dad, The war is - TopicsExpress

Texas Hill Country Dear Mom and Dad, The war is done. My task is through. And Mom, theres something I must ask of you. I have a friend, Oh such a friend. He has no home you see. And see, Mom, Id really like to bring him home with me. Dear Son, we dont mind if he comes home with you. Im sure he could stay... perhaps a week or two. Dear Mom and Dad, Theres something you must know. Now please dont be alarmed, but my friend in battle was recently shot, and now he has no arm. Dear Son, dont be afraid to bring him home with you. Perhaps he could stay... for a day or two. Dear Mom and Dad, But Mom, hes not just a friend, hes like a brother too; thats why I want him home with us, and hell be like a son to you. Before you give your answer, Mom, I really dont want to beg, but my friend in battle was recently wounded and also lost his leg. Dear Son, it hurts so much to say, the answer must be no; for Dad and I have no time for a boy who is crippled so. So months went by and a letter came, it said their son had died. When they read the cause of death, the shock was suicide. Days later when the casket came. Draped in Americas flag. They saw their son lying there, ...without an arm, without a leg. ~~Author Unknown. Please pass this on, pray for & help our men and women who have served our country. Most are not coming home whole in mind & spirit, many are not coming home whole in body, so they truly need our prayers. But they also need daily understanding & support. Not all wounds are visible. Many have PTSD, as Audie Murphy suffered from. The suicide rate of our returning Vets is 22 per day. Many are homeless. Some are even hungry. This saddens me & is unacceptable. Do your part & help them whenever, wherever, however you can.... every day, not just on Veterans Day. Thank You sincerely & may God Bless our Veterans. --CG
