•••That was the best display from Rodgers men since the start of the new campaign! Liverpools performance against Swansea last night was very impressive to say the least. But not taking that into consideration here is what I have to say••• Last season’s explosive attacking displays which took the team so close to the title, were based on the unpredictability of the forward players - Sterling Sturridge Suarez. The teams attacking ability almost won them the lead but unfortunately didnt. The main reasons for our awful displays so far this season are these; •The departure of Suarez from the team is still seriously missed. As a matter of fact a good replacement for the ex-striker has not been signed. •To put it bluntly, Balotelli is very predictable and lazy. Though there was much improvement on his game against Hull last week, and also against Swansea last night but he still needs to put more effort as he is the only prolific striker we have available. •Sturridges long absence from the team through injury has done nothing but affected the power and tempo of the team. Suarez and Sturridge were the hero Liverpool relied on throughout last season, so not having any of them in the team now is a very big problem and its really affecting the team. •Mignolet dip-in-form is another cause for concern for the team. The Belgium international hasnt met up to expection so far this season. Perhaps he doesnt have any consistent competitor in the team. Its imperative Rodgers looks into that in the January transfer window. •Two clean sheets so far in the new season is another huge problem. Rodgers thought the defensive problem of his team had been solved with the signing of Lovren, Manquillo and Moreno. But the reverse is the case as Liverpool has conceded at least 1 goal in every game played this season excluding games against Tottenham and Hull city. Pitiful to say, our defense is very poor. I believe if these faults can be put into consideration and eventually fixed, we would get our best form back. Also not forgetting we can kick-start a beautiful season after the swansea game. YNWA!!!
