† The Awesome God † Do not be terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God. Deuteronomy 7:21 NIV Moses called the Israelites together before they went into the promised land and told them to not be afraid for the Lord, who is among you, is a great and awesome God. The definition of Awesome: adjective breathtaking, awe-inspiring, magnificent, wonderful, amazing, stunning, staggering, imposing, stirring, impressive; formidable, fearsome, dreaded; mind-boggling, mind-blowing, jaw-dropping, excellent, marvelous; wondrous. Awesome is the opposite of unimpressive. I love the word Awesome; it seems to be one of the few words that I know that can even come close to describing God and I try to reserve it just for that purpose. I mean can you use the same words to describe a movie actor that you would to describe the one that created the earth? Today we serve the breathtaking, mind-boggling, mind-blowing, jaw-dropping, Awesome God that created the universe. Act like it and do not fear what man can do to you. Jesus loves you so much that He traded His life for yours!
