A new and exciting generation of artists, songwriters, studio musicians, arrangers, musical directors, engineers and producers were coming of age in London, a trend that would make British pop the foremost musical force in the world for at least a couple of years. This unique song went to the top 5 in the UK, with barely a whisper on our side of the Atlantic, until a few years later, in the early 90s, when it was performed by Boy George and included in the soundtrack of motion picture of the same name.
