“The Voice” revealed the Top 5 for season 7 on Tuesday’s - TopicsExpress

“The Voice” revealed the Top 5 for season 7 on Tuesday’s live results show, which featured a brutal TRIPLE elimination. Since the live episodes began last month with the Top 12, each results show has featured three contestants in jeopardy performing once more in hopes of winning the Instant Save via a live Twitter vote. Only one person could win each week, thereby immediately eliminating the other artists. But this week, following the Top 8 performances on Monday, host Carson Daly revealed a bottom four, making the battle for redemption even tighter. With a different four already declared safe, that meant Ryan Sill (Team Gwen), DaNica Shirey (Team Pharrell), Luke Wade (Team Pharrell) and Chris Jamison (Team Adam) were each fighting for the very last spot in the Top 5. And Pharrell, unfortunately, was guaranteed to lose at least one contestant, if not both. After the performances and live vote, Jamison was declared the winner of the last-minute save. The other three were heartbreakingly given the boot, including Sill, who had won the Instant Save the last two weeks. The outcome severely changed the team standings. Now, with just a handful of artists remaining, the Top 5 breaks down like this: Adam Levine amazingly still has all three of his artists, Jamison, Matt McAndrew, and Damien. Like last week, Blake Shelton still just has Craig Wayne Boyd. Gwen Stefani is now down to only Taylor John Williams. And poor Pharrell, in his first season the show, is now the first coach to lose all of his contestants this season with Shirey and Wade’s eliminations. The Top 5 will all perform in the semifinals next Monday, as “The Voice” moves closer to its first-ever wild card twist. As Gossip Cop previously reported, Daly announced a few weeks ago that all the eliminated contestants, including tonight’s three, will be invited back to perform on a special episode. One of those artists will get to officially re-join the competition. What do you think of tonight’s results, and are you looking forward to the upcoming wild card?
