“The difference between the master and the beginner is that the master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried.” When I started going to the gym I didn’t walk in there a professional, full of confidence. I didn’t walk in there and start dead lifting 150 pounds and doing pull-ups. I walked in there having no idea what I was doing but ready for a change and ready to step out of my comfort zone. I stood in front of the gym machines reading all the diagrams, and feeling like a dork while doing it, but doing it none-the-less. Nobody is born a pro. Nobody is born great. Greatness is something that is earned. Feeling insecure next to the child-less gym bunnies didn’t stop me going. Awkward looks from people wondering what on earth I was doing, didn’t stop me going. You have to step out of your comfort zone to see change. And you have to be willing to be a beginner. My form, my ability, and my strength has improved a lot over the last year but it’s only because I haven’t given up. I started reading bodybuilding sites. I joined online social groups with like-minded women, I follow online fitness pages that inspire and motivate me. Every day I learn little bit more and every day I get a little bit better. Allow yourself to be an amateur. Dont let fear of judgement stop you. Dont let fear of failure stop you. Fear and faith both require belief in something that we cannot see. But they occupy the same space. Push fear out today and take a leap of faith. Believe that you will improve, and keep going until you do. #MotivationMonday
