"The future of democracy and our role as citizens to determine the world in which we live" An open forum will be held at FERN "Fremantle Environmental Resource Network" Western Australia to discuss "The future of democracy and our role as citizens to determine the world in which we live" In this time of great need, suffering and indifference it is important that we as individuals look within and around us to determine why it is as it is, as if we consider only ourselves then do we only have ourselves to blame. We all have a duty of care and we all have our dreams that should be considered, as long as they do not inflict suffering or are considered as holding a greater weight or value than another. It is easy to blame others as to blame ourselves would involve at looking at our short comings. It is easy to blame the government, yet is it not that we have given them our voice to act on our behalf, as we wish to be free to enjoy our time without the burden of making the decisions that will inevitably determine not only our future but the future of all that we know ! So is it really the government that is failing to look after us, or is it us that is failing ourselves ! We are gathering together to bringing forth the proposal of a citizens referendum, so we as individuals are able to establish statutory legislations that are determined by the will of the people, to ensure the protection of all that we love, where the deciding factor is determined by a weighted measure of those that are free to participate. For instance "If we as individuals wish to ensure the protection of our wetlands, and we though our actions gather 3000 signatures to support this fact, then it is passed as law unless there are those that are willing to gather a greater number of signatures that determine that this should not be so !" There are many issues that needs our attention, and many issues that interact with others, so it appears that the future guidelines for us to exist in harmony should consider others as they wish to be considered not as we wish them to be, as when we consider more than ourselves and that of which we love , then we will be able to see the bigger picture of how thing could be! I hope that the guidelines will be created out of the love, respect and consideration of this beautiful planet and all of us so we may exist without fear of persecution repression and segregation in a world of abundance for all that respects all as it should be. When we are able to share our resources our knowledge and our wisdom and considered that we are all as worthy as one another, then and only then will we be able to feel the lightness of being that brings forth the essence of love that has always been.
