“The glory of the Lord” is something which goes beyond human - TopicsExpress

“The glory of the Lord” is something which goes beyond human comprehension. The man on his face is a worshipper, not a theological analyst interested in subtle definition. There is a value in considering the features of that glory as revealed here (verses 26-28). There is fire - “ . . . as if full of fire . . . he looked like fire . . .” “For our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:29) There is light - “brilliant light surrounded him.” “God is light: in him there is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5) There is the rainbow - “Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.” “God is love,” (1 John 4:16); “God is faithful” (1 Corinthians 1:9); “I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” (Genesis. 9:13) There is the Man on the throne - “high above on the throne was a figure like that of man.” “The Word became flesh . . . We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) The God of glory speaks. To sense that glory and to hear that voice is essential for prophetic ministry. Devotion by Daily Encouragement
