“The purposes of a man’s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out,” (Pr. 20:5). Father, when it is appropriate and you want those purposes drawn out to serve your agenda, I ask that you make me a woman with that depth of understanding in my interactions with people and as I mentor. In reading my study Bible note I see the metaphor represents the competent person’s ability to uncover conniving from beneath its verbal camouflage. I want to be that discerning.
