“There has never been a statue erected to honor a critic.” - TopicsExpress

“There has never been a statue erected to honor a critic.” (Zig Ziglar) One of the best responses to a critic is to ask them what they are willing to do to make things better. Little is ever accomplished by pointing out what is wrong apart from providing better alternatives and the accompanying contributions of being part of the answer. To only focus on what we don’t like or won’t do is nothing but a cop out and a justification to do nothing. In the real world there is a principle at work; “we reap what we sow.” Logic would teach us that if we sow nothing we will reap nothing. Granted there is nothing wrong with honest criticism and it can be very fruitful if the intent is to find a better solution. However, nothing is ever gained when the sole motivation is to find fault. Lord, free me for a critical spirit so that you can show me potential and possibility rather than to justify or excuse being satisfied with being miserable. Amen
