“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? (Matthew 6:25-27 ESV) I used to be worrier! I would worry about everything, but my worrying didnt change anything, it only made me a miserable person. I heard someone say that worry is just our distrust in God! That statement floored me. It wasnt that I didnt trust God to do what He said He would do, I was just anxious about what the outcome would be. Well, at least thats what I told myself. So began my journey of trying to trust God more and be anxious less. It was a long and tiresome journey, one Im still trekking every day. I am the mother of two boys, boys that are are all snips and snails and puppy dog tails! I regretted more than once dropping my accident policy on them and couldnt tell you how many visits to the doctor and ER Ive sat through! Weve had more surgeries than I can count on one hand (maybe two if I thought about it), made it through staph infection and aggressive pneumonia, mission trips to Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Indonesia and Honduras, and my God has kept me strong through it all! I know some of you are facing such difficult times today. Believe me when I say Im not trying to belittle the mountain you are climbing. But our Redeemer tells you to turn it over to Him! Rest in His peace and in the comfort He provides. Hes never let me down! God, I love You so much! Thank You for loving us so much! Thank You for speaking these precious Words so that we will have peace and know You are in control. God, I know there are people reading this that need a special touch from You. Bless them with peace that passes all understanding and teach us how to trust You more everyday. Worry comes naturally to us, trust does not, so thank You for being patient. May we all rest in the promises these precious words written in red give! Fill us with Your love and mercy and grace to overflowing so it will spill out of our lives and into the lives of all we meet. Use us to draw others near to You. We give You all honor and all glory and all praise. You are so very worthy!!!
