This article is so much of exactly how I feel... Except for the use of the B word, which was never allowed in our home nor in my mothers classroom over the past 32 years. If you say youre bored, my mom would say, then you must be a Boring person! And that cant possibly be true. The world is much too full of so many things to learn and do to EVER be bored!!! Interestingly, before I read the article and the title caught my attention, I thought of our long car rides to town and how electronics are not allowed in anyones hands. I tell my kids to look out the windows at the ocean, the mountains, the colors, the vast world around them! And I hear my grandmothers voice from 30 years ago, in my mind, TEACHING me to appreciate all that has been created for our delight and enjoyment. When Talei was very little I quickly realized such appreciation and curiosity must be taught and nurtured, otherwise everything else will distract us from beauty, generosity and quiet moments. So thank you, author - Renee Robinson, for helping me to know Im not alone, and for encouraging me to be even better in my selfish endeavors with my family! With - Tai Vuniwai
