[This is Laurie] Today we buried our cat, Tony. He passed away Friday shortly after surgery to remove a tumor in his neck. He was 18-1/2 and we knew the surgery was a risk, but we hoped the it would give him a couple more years with us. Sadly, it was not to be. Tony lived a very good, long life. He had a magnificent personality and we will miss him desperately. We have a flower garden in a corner of our back yard and that is where we buried our other beloved 21 year old cat back in 2010. Weve been so busy the past couple of summers that the back garden had filled with weeds and had become totally overgrown. Last winters bitter cold also killed the beautiful Althea tree at the center of the garden. Removing the dead tree and restoring the garden had been on our to-do list for a long time and today it got done. We could do right by our fur baby before we left town. Im happy for the distraction of the upcoming out-of-state shows so we wont have time to dwell too much on our loss. Im excited to see more of the Rockies when we roll through Colorado, and were looking forward to meeting folks from several blues societies in Nebraska and Colorado. Time rolls on, and so do we.
