:( This is SO sad. It seems to me that theres such a lot of pain in schools. I deeply feel the whole system is not serving kids or teachers as it could. After having 3 of my own (17,14 & 9) working w many families & talking to teachers over the years I think they often feel like they r battling within a system / society without knowing how to do anything about it. My eldest went from Steiner (where its a right of passage to grow older n look after the younger ones) to mainstream aged 6 & came home on his 2nd day saying mummy u wont believe this. The teachers bully the kids & the big kids bully the little kids! It starts from the beginning. I believe that our whole education system is basically based on control & fear, not love. It is a status driven, competitive way of judging ourselves which often causes feelings of inadequacy leading to deep pain & hurt (& often thats where bullying begins). It teaches kindness from the head not the heart & from the outside in! I believe the future is in teaching our children to care for & respect themselves first & then others, developing meaningful relationships & building mature, emotional intelligence. .....& that begins with us as parents & teachers - finding that place in ourselves so that we are able to support our kids with pure love. I could go on & on !!! ;)
