“This is a terrorist group and not a state - actually it is a state, thats a large part of the problem. Theres no contradiction between terrorist and state. The two biggest terrorists in Syria are states - first the Assadist, then the psychotic-Islamist. The solution, as elsewhere, lies with non-state actors. And the biggest terrorists in the world in general are states - Russian, Iranian, American, Chinese, Israeli... and of course leftist states or workers states have often been the most terroristic of all. All state means is a repressive apparatus; its nothing to idolise or even wish for. Its time to refuse to be ruled by states, whatever they call themselves...
