“Through the trainings, I summoned up the courage to settle the matter of land ownership...I found my courage and my voice, and today, I remain the owner of the land.” In Nigeria, Beatrice found her right to own the land she farmed challenged by a man in her village. Land rights are a critical issue for many women in Nigeria, especially for widows, single heads of household, and women who farm or use their land to earn money for their families. Through our programs, we work to educate women on their right to own property and land, as well as build support for womens land rights through educating male community leaders.
