#ThrowbackThursday Remember that time Clark Beaumont clung desperately to a rock face in an epic display of strength and companionship? Brisbane-based collaborative duo Nicole Beaumont and Sarah Clark premiered commissioned piece Heroics and Mateship 2014 at the opening of our current exhibition Performance Now back in early December. The duo drew inspiration from a scary real life near-disaster on a recent camping trip to Mt. Barney. When we were descending the mountain down a smooth rock cliff-face, Sarah lost her footing, started sliding and gained momentum towards a 15m drop. Nicole launched herself onto Sarah and we fumbled, but Sarah continued falling past Nicole and now face first. Nicoles last ditch effort to stop Sarah was to grab her ankle with both hands and fortunately Sarah came to a stop before going over the cliff. #PerformanceNow Open today 10am-5pm bit.ly/performance-now-QUT
