#Tithing Why are you paying for what Jesus already paid for once for you for all time? Abraham paid tithes once, not from his income but of spoil of war, and the Levites are exempted from paying tithes for that. The priests are of the tribe of Levi who paid tithes while yet unborn in Abraham. Read Hebrews chapter seven (7) for proper understanding. Likewise, those in Christ has paid it all to God. They owe God nothing except love because Jesus paid it all with His life on the cross for us to live for Him, not to live like the people of Israel; For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (II Corinthians 5:14-17 NKJV) Tithes is not of faith. The law is of the flesh and cannot please God. Tithes is of the law of sin and death; For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:2-4 NKJV) > Count yourself as dead to the law of tithes, as you did to sin! The Israelites lived according to the flesh and pays tithes, but the Church of Jesus Christ lives according to the Spirit; It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63 NKJV) If you believe that tithes predates the law, then it may interest you to know that Jesus predates them all; Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” (John 8:58 NKJV) We are saved to live for Jesus as new creatures, living by His words alone; not by the book of the law of Moses or principles of holy men before the law; All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief(devourer) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:8-10 NKJV) Paying tithes means you denied Jesus is before Abraham and the law. Paying tithes means you deny that Jesus paid it all for you with His life on the cross. My duty is to remind you what Jesus said before He went back to heaven; teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:20 NKJV) Do you really believe that Jesus has paid it all for you on the cross? (Read Rom 6:1-14)
