#Tonight Show# ‘Soul Food’ An officer while on duty got a disturbing call one Saturday afternoon a few months ago. His 6-year-old son, Mike, had been hit by a car while riding his bike. A woman lost control of her car, and hit Mike at a rate of about 50 Kmph. The Officer had seen the results of accidents like this and feared the worst. When he got to the Hospital, he rushed through the emergency room to find Mike conscious and in fairly good spirits. Mike, what happened? The officer asked. Mike replied, Well, dad, I was riding my bike, and some lady ran me over. I flew into the swamp, my bike broke and thats what happened! As it turned out, the impact propelled Mike about 500 feet, over a few trees and shrubs and in to the middle of a swamp. His only injuries were to his right femur bone, which had broken in two places. Mike had surgery to place pins in his leg. Otherwise the boy is fine. Since all the boy could talk about was his broken bike, the officer thought he would go and buy him a new one while he was in surgery so he could have it when he came out.The next day the officer sat with Mike to keep him company in the hospital. Mike was enjoying the sight of his new bike and talked about how he could go riding again when he recovers. When they were alone...Mike, said, dad, did you know Jesus is real? Well, the officer replied, a little startled, Yes, Jesus is real to all who believe in him and love him in their hearts. No, said Mike. I mean Jesus is REALLY real. What do you mean? asked the officer. I know hes real cause I saw him, said Mike. You did? said the officer. Yes, said Mike. When that lady ran me over and broke my bike, Jesus caught me in his arms and laid me down in the swamp. Moral: Isaiah 43:2..When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.... He has also promised...I will carry you; And I will bear you and I will deliver you....will you trust Him today?
