#TrainerTip #Tuesday High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a popular form of exercise that involves doing exercise for a short period of time at a high intensity. An example of this would be 40 seconds of work, with a 20 second break between exercises, and repeat each exercise 3-4 times. Typically these intervals try to incorporate a full body workout, but this can be hard, as the workout is usually complete in less than 20 minutes. HIIT has advantages if you are looking for a quick effective workout in a short period of time. But it also has disadvantages; these include the possibility of missing muscle groups during the workout, and the ability to sustain your level of intensity. Most people have difficulty maintaining a high enough level of intensity for the program to be effective. If you are engaging or thinking of starting HIIT training, like any other training, you must make sure you continue to include a variety of different training modes to ensure a well-balanced training regime.
