#TransferNews Manchester United desperate to sell trio to fund £75m transfers Manchester United chiefs are desperate to sell Nani, Ashley Young and Shinji Kagawa this summer to finance a mega spending spree worth £75 million, according to The Daily Star. The Red Devils have already purchased Spanish ace Ander Herrera and England youngster Luke Shaw in this transfer window, but look set to add further to the squad before the start of the 2014/15 campaign by swooping for German superstar Mats Hummels and Real Madrid ace Angel Di Maria. Trio But if new United boss Louis van Gaal is going to bring the pair to the Theatre of Dreams, then he may have to get rid of three first team players. And it appears that he wants to sell Japanese playmaker Shinji Kagawa, who has endured a tricky couple of seasons at the club. Kagawa has failed to hold down a place in the first team in recent time, meaning he may now be shipped out under the new regime. As well as Kagawa, it appears that Van Gaal could also get rid of Young and Nani, who have also endured a tricky period at the club. Both wingers failed to prove themselves under David Moyes last term, and could now lose their Manchester United status. Hummels United fans will, however, be excited by the possibility of Dortmund man Mats Hummels joining the club in this window. United are in desperate need of defensive additions following the departures of experienced duo Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic at the end of last season, and Hummels would arrive at Old Trafford extremely highly rated. The superstar is currently starring for the German national side, having helped them reach the World Cup final. Hummels and Co. could well take on Louis van Gaals Dutch side in the final, with the Netherlands set to take on Argentina tonight. Di Maria Di Maria will be hoping that its his side that progresses to the final of the competition. The Argentine star wont have the chance to impress Van Gaal tonight, however, as hes been ruled out of the semi-final clash. The Real Madrid superstar would prove a great coup for the Red Devils boss if he can land him this summer, after the player helped inspire his club to Champions League success last term.
