#TransformationTuesday It’s fashionable to help save Italy’s artistic treasures - Fendi, Bvlgari, and Diesel are joining other fashion houses to help maintain and restore some of Italy’s most important cultural heritage sites. Fendi has poured money into the Fontana De Trevi and Bvlgari is steadily giving donations to keep the The Spanish Steps, Roma, Lazio, Italy sparkling clean. Diesel is supporting a large scale project to clean up the Rialto Bridge in Venice. The Colosseum is getting a badly needed facelift by Italian-born CEO of Tods, Diego Della Valle. Its being cleaned literally inch by inch to get rid of centuries of caked-on dust, grime, air and auto pollution. The stone is travertine, a kind of limestone. No chemicals are allowed, only purified water and elbow grease: days, weeks, months, years on end of scrubbing. Built by hand, saved by hand (see amazing before and after photo on vaticanpatrons Instagram). This 60 minutes segment gives you more info on the growing trend! Want to be as chic as Ralph Lauren? Get in on the action by supporting the The Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums and rub metaphorical elbows with the mavens of high fashion. 60 Minutes on CBS: cbsnews/news/saving-history-saving-italy-colosseum-becomes-fashionable/
