**UPDATE** District 186 just announced they WILL Close Due to Inclement Weather tomorrow. As the safety of our students is of the utmost concern, Springfield Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, due to the inclement weather forecast of extremely low wind chill predictions that have remained consistent throughout the evening. School has been cancelled for all Springfield Public Schools, Springfield Ball Charter School, S.C.O.P.E. and Lawrence Education Center. Superintendent Gill stated, “Our concern is the safety and well-being of all students, and most especially students who would have to wait outside to catch a school bus or walk to school in such conditions. We have monitored the forecast all day and throughout the night and have determined this is the best decision for the safety of our students.” We will continue to keep our families informed via ParentLink, the district webpage, Facebook, Twitter, text, email and through the media.
