*****UPDATE ON OZZIE****** For those of you that have seen the catagory 5 hurricane form over the past few days on this dog that was recently pulled from MAS yesterday. These are the facts and you will only see them here in this post. Ozzie was only able to be pulled by a rescue/foster backing him. The rescue that everyone is concerned about in the north called Angels 2 the Rescue has been brutally attacked and accused of several factors that are unproven, recently. The main goal was to get this dog away from the needle. The only way was with a foster and rescue backing. The SECONDARY goal was to wait for a local rescue to step up to help this dog LOCALLY we havent received that offer until today. It took a rescue far away to help bail him out and we succeeded. The rescue that is currently backing Ozzie cage number #A274408 is New Beginnings Animal Rescue. Where were they? (You are asking) They were budgeting and deciding with their board as to whether or not that were able. They do have some HW cases they are dealing with at this time as many rescues do. But the goal is to help the animals. And it does take funding. Funding: The funding was decided for Ozzie by ME as he would probably need some intensive care. We are unsure of HW status and other medical issues until he is seen by a veterinarian. So funding has not started yet because we dont want to ask for too much or too little. That is when I was going to set up a way to help him as one person cant afford it alone. Fact: Money was never going to Massachusetts for Ozzie. Ozzie was never going to be transported there to another foster home. Every rescue that has a HW case understands the cost of these treatments. And we havent even crossed the bridge yet on his funding. As I already knew that New Beginnings Animal Rescue is going through 6 heart worm cases, that I am aware of. In the event he is in need of HW treatment or other serious medical concerns HE WILL NEED SPONSORSHIP. This is how people can help now... he does need to stay on a special diet as these arent cheap to get him back to a normal weight. Food donations can be made to Hollywood Feed on Kirby Parkway to help pay for his diet. They are aware of who Ozzie is and got to meet him in person. He is eating Chicken and Soup Regular Puppy it is high in protein and calories. We dont need 100 bags but we will have a small donation bucket to help pay for this as we know good food is expensive. Funding for medical IF MEDICALLY COMPROMISED and not just underweight there will be a way for you to help towards his medical care through New Beginnings Animal Rescue. We are all praying he is healthy. Again, no cough but its a required test. So please keep him in your prayers. The Hypothesis: Lets not belittle a rescue from the north that is willing to help. Yes do research, they have been really open and giving to any information asked. But we need to stop criticizing people we dont know anything about. It would make better sense to have northern supporters to help transport our dogs from the south to the north where there are lines of people wanting to adopt a dog or cat or other shelters closed because they dont have any animals to adopt out because they are all down here. The goal for Ozzie panned out like it was supposed to. We got a rescue to help pull and we got a rescue locally to help him further. The foster is staying the same because she is currently fostering for NBAR. Now, take a look at these two pictures. One was from his intake day on January 13, 2015. The other is the sun shining on his New Beginning in his freedom picture on January 17, 2015. But it took Angels 2 the Rescue to make this happy day happen. We are all in it together in the end of the day and the negative threads are not helping the animals still there. Do your research privately and focus on what is in the best interest of the animals always. We all need to work together not against each other. WE ARE THEIR VOICE.
