* URGET ~ UPDATE ON CAPPINCUR COLLIE * Offaly SPCA received an unconfirmed report earlier today that the Collie seen staying in the Cappincur area had escaped from Tullamore pound. Offaly SPCA can now confirm that the Collie straying was in the process of being surrendered into Offaly dog pound on Thursday 12th Dec., when she slipped her lead and fled from the man surrendering her. This already terrified and panicked dog made a run for it in the direction of Cappincur roundabout. Despite the best efforts of the dog warden to catch her, she had quickly fled across fields. This incident happened on Thursday This poor frightened dog has received no food or clean water since then and has been sleeping outside in below minus temperatures. As we all prepare for the Christmas holidays spare a thought for this freezing cold, frightened and hungry dog. This dog appears shy and nervous and is proving difficult to catch. She could have wandered into neighbouring areas such as Ballydaly, along the canal Line, Ballinagar etc. If you can spare an hour or so of your time, we would ask you to have a look for this poor dog, enticing her with food or perhaps another dog may help coax this elusive character. Our volunteers and the very busy dog warden will continue to try catch and contain her. PEOPLE POWER is key here, the more people out looking for her the better chance she has of spending Christmas safe, warm with a full belly. This poor dog has suffered enough!!
