Oweiss who is an American educator and an international economic advisor. Born in Egypt, he earned his Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota. As a Professor of Economics, he taught at Georgetown University for forty two years, and was a visiting professor at Harvard University and Johns Hopkins University. While on leave from academia, he was appointed First Under-Secretary for Economic Affairs in the Egyptian Cabinet. Dr. Oweiss also served as the Chief of the Egyptian Economic Mission to the United States with rank of Ambassador He authored over sixty scholarly publications.
