#UgandaPolice Force Public statement!! On the 12th January 2015, the Director Operations, AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi briefed the media on behalf of the IGP where he informed that the general security situation countrywide was very calm and normal without any serious incidents. He further informed the media on the level of progress surrounding the murder cases of the Muslim sheikhs (clerics) that occurred late last year .the investigations team tasked with the investigations had arrested suspects in a country wide networked operation and also recovered material exhibits that were of evidential value .He added that the suspects had been interrogated and their case file consolidated along various offences that rotated around acts of terrorism under the ADF terror cells which the police had disrupted during the operation. He also updated members on the defilement case surrounding business tycoon Katumwa of Katumwa Sports Center, who was set to appear before Makindye Magistrate court since in police case file appeared complete. The Director ,further reassured Ugandans along the Waligo border check point in Ogili sub-county ,Lamwo district of increased security to help address concerns of security on the south Sudanese border amidst fears of an alleged rebellion in south Sudan The Director also cautions political activists that were planning to reactivate the “walk to work” demonstrations and warned them against arrest since there is an enabling Public Order Management Law. In his conclusion remark ,the Director cautioned the public against the dangers of fire outbreaks during the dry spell is expected to stretch till the end of March 2015 .He advised the public against lighting fires /bushes un necessarily ,since they would be charged with arson and setting fires.
