#Uncommon #Negligence I happened to visit the prestigious Nigerian Christian Secondary School, Ukpom, Abak (ABAK 5) in January 2014, exactly a year ago to shoot my music video while visiting my home state and country. This school produced some of the leaders in AKWA IBOM STATE and currently at least one of the G22 - governorship candidates. To my disbelief, when I entered the classrooms, I thought it was an abandoned school. I asked my cinematographer who comes from the area, is this school functional or in operation? He said YES. And I added, for real? And he said YES. During the course of the shoot, I had the opportunity to talk to some of the tutors. They lamented with the frustration they went through to get the attention of the STATE GOVERNMENT, all to no avail, or they just turned deaf ears to their request for help. I am not from Ukpum or ABAK 5 area, but I truly believe that for the students to teachers to assemble for learning in this kind of classroom is a TOTAL disrespect and highest violation of HUMAN RIGHTS.
