These are in addition to the large number of bursaries for continuing students made available under its Access Agreement with the Office for Fair Access. Although the University in its scholarship awards target both UK/EU and foreign International students, Study & Scholarships has compiled below a list of UCB scholarships for International students, with specific scholarship details and requirements. Principals Scholarship These scholarships are open to applicants recommended by recognised international partner institutions only. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in academic achievement. Applicants must have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time taught programme at UCB and the chosen programme should be of at least one years duration and leading to an academic award at Higher Education level. Applicants must not previously have been enrolled on the programme concerned, previously been enrolled on a FdA programme at the College in the same subject area (if entering the final year of a first degree programme) or have previously received a scholarship from the College. In summary, this offers 5 Full Scholarships (all UCB tuition fees and UCB accommodation paid) 2. Teaching Fellow Scholarship These scholarships are open to serving teachers from recognised international partner institutions only. Applicants must provide evidence of a high level of teaching capability, be highly committed to the teaching of their subject, clearly explain the benefit they would derive from the scholarship, show a willingness to teach at UCB in subjects relevant to the UCB curriculum, and a high level of written and oral communication in English. Applicants must have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time taught programme at UCB and the chosen programme should be of at least one years duration and leading to an academic award at Higher Education level. In summary, this offers up to 2 Teaching Fellow Scholarships. Each scholarship provides half of the costs of UCB tuition fees for up to one year of a Masters or Undergraduate programme. Successful applicants will be offered 20 hours part-time teaching per week for a maximum of 30 weeks, paid on the standard part-time rate for the level of teaching undertaken. 3. Target Recruitment Partial Fee Waiver These scholarships are open to applicants based in one of the countries defined each year by the international office. Please see official website for this list. Applicants must demonstrate excellence of academic or other relevant achievement. Applicants must not previously have been enrolled on the programme concerned, previously been enrolled on a FdA programme at the University in the same subject area (if entering the final year of a first degree programme) or have previously received a scholarship from the University. In summary, up to 100 Fee Waivers are given. No applications are necessary. Partial Fee Waivers will be noted in all offer letters sent to applicants from relevant countries. 4. Academic Excellence Scholarship These scholarships are open to applicants from any country. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in academic achievement. Applicants must have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time taught programme at UCB and the chosen programme should be of at least one years duration and normally lead to an academic award at Higher Education level. Applicants must not previously have been enrolled on the programme concerned, previously been enrolled on a FdA programme at the University in the same subject area (if entering the final year of a first degree programme) or have previously received a scholarship from the University. In summary, this offers 6 Academic Excellence awards - Up to £1000 off the cost of tuition fees, for one year only. 5. Sporting Excellence Scholarship These scholarships are open to applicants from any country. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in sporting achievement. Applicants must have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time taught programme at UCB and the chosen programme should be of at least one years duration and leading to an academic award at Higher Education level. Applicants must not previously have been enrolled on the programme concerned, previously been enrolled on a FdA programme at the University in the same subject area (if entering the final year of a first degree programme) or have previously received a scholarship from the University. In summary, this offers up to 6 student sporting excellence awards - Up to £1000 off the cost of tuition fees for each year of the programme, plus free access to Sports Therapy expertise and clinics and up to £500 over the duration of the programme towards the cost of travel for training/events. 6. International Student Progression Scholarship UCB is keen to encourage international students to progress to the highest level of study within their capability and to promote this the University Corporation has made available up to 150 scholarships of £1000 each which will be automatically deducted from the tuition fees of the programme to which the student is progressing. These scholarships are offered to any student who has successfully completed a specified programme of higher education at UCB and is progressing within 3 semesters to a higher level of study at UCB, e.g. Foundation Degree to BA Honours final stage or BA Honours to Masters. Progression Scholarships are not available for students progressing from a Year 0 or International Foundation Diploma programme. No application is required. Eligible students will automatically be identified and the scholarship applied to their new programme tuition fee. In summary, up to 150 £1000 reduction in tuition fees of a BA Honours or Masters programme. You will be automatically considered for this scholarship.
