(Update...Whats Going On) Hiya all - - late February and March brings many new specials. One of the main reasons I had to pull back from radio for the time was to focus on some big things that all came together just before the end of summer. The biggest tv project, I can now share was seeing the return of Motown 25 to television, for the first time in 31 years. This was and is a show I felt in my heart and soul needed to be back - and it is returing February 28th on most public tv stations - - to me, its the be all - end all tv concert that inspired me to make Doo Wop 50 and nearly 100 shows now for public television. So this is a big big focus of my energies for the next few weeks, oh..and did I mention, the Miracles were of course the inspiration - its so amazing to see them unite in M25, and so great to be able to be a part of bringing it back full circle with some very special amazing peope on the team that I have been truly blessed to connect with this project that truly came as a gift from the universe. Stay tuned here in the next few weeks for some great previews and intervews with the artists that created the Motown Sound. But - thats not all, another show (and a new area of discovery for me) was to work on Great Broadway Moments From The Ed Sullivan Show. Its an extensive look-back at some of Broadways biggest and best from Eds stage. When I saw moments like Carol Lawrence singing Tonight from West Side Story, Richard Kiley performing The Impossible Dream from Man Of La Mancha and Ethel Merman with her signature, Theres No Business Like Show Business it was also an immediate path I felt I had to be on to bring these moments back to tv. One of the bonus songs is Pat Suzuki singing I Enjoy Being A Girl and a collection of all Rogers and Hammersteins hits - - fabulous moments lost to time - return again in March to many public tv stations, hosted by the always amazing Shirley Jones. And then, Bobby Vinton and Tine Cole bring us back to the great early 60s pop era - - with hits like There, Ive Said It Again for a certian someone that reminded me how much that song meant in his life - - which led me to rediscover Bobbys music. But thats not all - - folk pop moments in this show bring us back with the Highwaymen singing Michael (Row The Boat Ashore), Kyu Sokomoto with his story (retitled for US release as Sukiyaki) - - loosely translated its about a man so in love with a girl, he has to walk looking above to the sky and buildings to hide his tears....always a special song to hear from when I used to hear it on CBS-FM. From Patsi to Connie, Johnny Tillotson to Jimmie Clanton, Bobby Vee to Paul Peterson - - this is a very sentimental remembrance, and its all coming in March. From Motown to Broadway, early 60s pop to working on my next show, Sister Acts of the 40s and 50s - - its been a very special musical time these past few months....and the plans we have for bringing Doo Wop back to tv in a big way are all in sight. So thank you my friends for being here, the best is yet to come !!! Oh yes, and Doo Wop Wednesdays will be back -- -- soon here on my FB page.
