[VIDEO] I first fell in love with documentaries in gr. 10 when I laid my eyes on Bowling for Columbine directed by Michael Moore. Most recently, I stumbled across this amazing documentary called The Tanning of America: One Nation Under Hip Hop directed and produced by Founder and CEO of the brand development and marketing firm Translation, Steve Stoute. Steve conducted over 40 interviews with celebrities and influential people such as: Co-founder of Def Jam Rick Ruben, Fashion Designer Marc Ecko, Naomi Campbell, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Mariah Carey, Dr. Dre, Russell Simmons, Tommy Hilfiger and more. Even if you are not a huge fan of Hip Hop, you’ll learn to appreciate its evolution and the impact it has had on many generations. And although I’m not American, I am very fascinated by the way the country operates. I’m super curious about many things and this was definitely worth my time.
