June 8, 2014 is a day to remember for African Immigrants in the Diaspora. The African Immigrant Caucus and fellow African community members met with politcial candidates such as the four candidates for Maryland governor, Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, Attorney General Doug Gangler, Delegate Heather Mizeur and Representative Charles Lollar. Over 2,000 community members came together at The Jesus House DC: Redeemed Christian Church of God in Silver Spring Maryland for the Accountability Assembly. African Immigrant Caucus is a group that consists of community, clergy, and business leaders that was established to influence decisions and decision making of the political and corporate leaders on issues affecting the African Community.
