#VIDEO: The Famous #Tsukiji #Market Given that Japan is known for its fresh seafood and one of my favorite cuisines, Ive always wanted to visit the world famous wholesale fish market in Tsukiji. #Restaurant owners come first thing in the morning to get first dibs on the freshest catch, which their menu of the day will be based on (for most). Market opens at around 4AM. Auction begins at 5am. If you wish to participate, registration starts at 430am. We arrived at around 11am and it was already over. Tenants were already packing up for deliveries to various areas in #Japan. The market is actually NOT promoted as a tourist attraction, which is why there are several rules when visiting: ➡️ No flash photography ➡️ No slippers to prevent potential injury ➡️ No disrupting tenants if you have no intentions of buying ➡️ No child strollers ➡️ No drunk people - seriously ➡️ No touching of the fish It feels like Im entering a girly bar, lol! Tourists sample the freshest sashimi, salads and sushis as the grounds are filled with small restaurants, just like the one behind me.
