Very sad! A thirty-two year old man/acquaintance told me last night, that they suspect Lymphoma. Hes the man/clerk at the off-licence who ALWAYS carries my purchases to the car for me, every time that I shop there. He has repaired tires. Replaced fluids in the car... he is a saint on earth. MIGHT be the scariest looking one on earth :-P --- but an amazingly generous heart. He has been ill since I met him, but cannot afford proper health care, so he toughs it out. He rejects my rides to the hospital, for that fear. Im so saddened that he is estranged from his family, so he traditionally dines on take-out Tacos for every holiday meal... as his family--- well... he just doesnt want to go through that. He has, for the past 5 years, politely, respectfully, rejected my EVERY invitation to join my family at our table. I see it in his eyes that he wants to, but he just wont come... no matter what. #STUBBORN :-P He is always so kind, cheerful, helpful, courteous, and protective of me (trip hazards, people in my path...) , and seldom accepts my tokens/gifts at holidays (the whole staff are extremely kind, and helpful, so I Christmas them each year). Sometimes he wont even allow me to exit my vehicle (because of my disability), grabs my card, runs inside, rings everything up, and brings it to me right in the car for signature--- especially when its FREEZING outside. As he brought my order, we exchanged our usual banter: How are you today Mr. Savant? Im blessed, Bill, How are you doing... been back to the doctor yet? So, last night, he told me that he contacted an old, OLD, relative in the medical profession, who has agreed to, after having reviewed his test results from the ER, added him to an Oncology study at a major institution/teaching hospital she heads. She cant see him until April, but he has agreed to go. FINALLY! Hes religious, but not practicing. Hes a scary-looking redneck (beard and all!!!). North Louisiana country-boy accent. Hes got a soul that permeates the air wherever he stands, and the most genuine, gentle eyes, and smile on earth. And he treats me (along with all the staff) far better than I deserve. Thats why I wanted to post this song. It reminds me of a higher power--- and one, specifically, who got Bill on a path to the help he needs! #fighttheCancerMonster #getyourhealing #getyourlifeBILLY!
