#VeryBadNews #LaptopAndPhoneTheft… Hmmnnn… Where should I start from? After working for three consecutive days without having to freshen up with few intra-dozes and scattered meals just to meet up with the submission of my FINAL SEMINAR DISSERTATION on Friday, 19th September, 2014; having been informed just three days to the submission day, some conservatively lazy sons of perdition decided to cart away my Hp Pro Book Mini Laptop, together with my Nokia torchlight phone that may not cost up to N1500, about three hours to submission while trying to put finishing touches so as to have the acceptability edge. Moreso, I had to go through such stress to meet up with lost academic activities and my #ASFL lectures. I have been left at the mercy of the security unit who had to go all the way with me to the department to request a compromise for me from the Seminar supervisor who is known to be very strict. All I have left of my seminar and gadgets is a letter deferring the submission of my dissertation signed by the Chief Security Officer of FUTA. I have been asking myself if I have ever inadvertently taken or stolen anybody’s property, even the Students’ Union financial resources or that of any other organization or people I have served in or worked with/for; and the answer that keeps coming is NO. Why should someone having full knowledge of what I use my system for, and the documents that it contains which could leave me in a devastating state if lost do such callously to me? Hmmnnn… but my repose is that the money used in getting that system is from my sweat and that of my parents which could be very disastrous to the generations of whomever as taken the effrontery to do such wicked act. I can’t just imagine the weight and value of what I have in that system which I could not back-up due to some technicalities before this theft. Thanks to Ojo Feranmi Joseph , FUTASU Welfare Director, who extended his laptop at the risk of its loss fully knowing the circumstances that surrounds the theft of mine; Azeez Olawumi Ibrahim a good brother who bombarded me with call cards; Kensat who offered his vehicle for mobility from one office and area to another; Hon. Sacula, SRC security committee secretary, who stood with me more like a friend than in his official capacity; the FUTASU Chief whip; Hon Lekan who went all the way to town for possible blockage of the sale of that laptop at a popular point of sale; Quadri Okikiola Nasir, another brother who had to help send soft copies of heavy materials containing my FINAL PROJECT which got missing with the laptop too; Mr. Oluseye Ogunlola Olasunkanmi who came to my aid in the test I missed for that day; and a host of others who were in the stop and search team and to those who extended their sympathies. Just funny that I am still in class as at the time of posting this, without refreshing myself just to meet up with the new deadline set for me, but the filth doesn’t matter as the result I want after all these, especially with series of test coming up next week. Since the security unit seems not to have the required intellectual intelligence and capacity to interrogate the prime suspect, certain friends and allies have put forward different considerable options to me. But I have decided to remain calm and collected so as not to be irrational with my action. …but by the time I have finished weighing those options, I am certain if we wouldn’t be able to recover the laptop again, we should be able to make the person not to live to tell the story of his experience ever!!! #ReallyDevastated!!!
