“Victory” 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (57) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Let us pray… “Victory” 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 In these last of the last day, at least here in America, in seems to me, there is very little visible collective victory or collective labors, which are victorious. Many local churches seemly are dying and some even closing their doors. Planting of a new local church and seeing it established is very difficult. Pastors without a local church are having a hard time finding a local church to pastor, evangelist-itinerary preachers are finding limited doors of opportunity and those that are finding doors find local churches in extremely spiritual and scriptural drought and are just the same after they leave, and missionaries are struggling to find financial support to get to the foreign field. Many a believer is carnal, contentious, and confused, even as it was true of the Corinthians, who the text contextually addresses. There are those today, who are filled with apathy, which is leading to apostasy. False doctrine and damnable teachings prevail, as such is being received by God’s deceived people. And although there is an abundance of proclaiming of the Word through many media and ministry venues of today, the abundance of such; in which, I am concerned, just maybe a cause and effect of the Word being received, as a common word of man, and not what it is the absolute authority of God’s Word. And as Jesus said that the love many would wax cold because iniquity abounds: sin, Satan, and solicitations of the world. However, even in the doom and gloom of such of the last of the last days, let us repent of our sin towards God and rely, by faith, upon our crucified and resurrected Savior LORD Jesus Christ to experience personal victory. Let us offer thanks unto God for such personal victory continually, according to God’s measure of grace. Let us be stedfast, unmovable, and always abounding in the work of the LORD, knowing that our personal labor is not in vain in the LORD. 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (57) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. Victory is declared through our Lord Jesus Christ: (57) But thanks (This is to offer sincere gratitude to God.) be to God, which giveth us (believers) the victory (spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural triumph) through our Lord Jesus Christ. As believers, by grace through faith, we have individual victory over sin’s depth and grip “through our Lord Jesus Christ,” thanks be unto God… As believers, by grace through faith, we have individual victory over separation eternally from God at death and the grave “through our Lord Jesus Christ,” thanks be unto God… As believers, by grace through faith, we have individual victory over Satan’s darkness and gain “through our Lord Jesus Christ,” thanks be unto God… Victory is displayed, as we walk, by faith, for God’s glory in our victory through our Lord Jesus Christ: (58) Therefore, my beloved (The idea here is one of spiritual intimacy.) brethren, (The idea here is because of the promised victory through the Lord Jesus Christ, we as believer should…) be ye stedfast (stead-to remain and fast-to be firm, to stand one’s ground), unmoveable (firm and fixed), always (regardless of the situation or circumstance) abounding (to excel) in the work (labors) of the Lord… If individual victory is going to be displayed, by faith, we must walk in and after intimacy with “our Lord Jesus Christ.” If individual victory is going to be displayed, by faith, we must walk being “stedfast” in and through “our Lord Jesus Christ.” If individual victory is going to be displayed, by faith, we must walk being “unmovable” in and through “our Lord Jesus Christ.” If individual victory is going to be displayed, by faith, we must walk “always abounding” in and through “our Lord Jesus Christ.” If individual victory is going to be displayed, by faith, we just might witness by the grace of God through faith collective victory of God’s local Churches in and through “our Lord Jesus Christ.” Victory is delighted in by knowing that all that we do, by faith, for God’s glory, His spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural manifestation, is not in vain in the LORD: …forasmuch as ye know (perceive) that your labour (To toil, the word here has the idea of pain. It is not always humanly pleasurable to serve the LORD, for true service for the LORD will often times render persecution and personal rejection from those who oppose the LORD Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s proclaimed Word. Yet the believer can spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally delight in knowing their individual labor is not in vain in the LORD.) is not in vain (empty, without value) in the Lord. Whether it is collect or individual labor for victory such comes with the extreme price of sacrifice, surrender, and stedfastness in and through collect or individual labor for victory “in and through “our Lord Jesus Christ” by faith… Whatever degree of collect or individual labor for victory, we experience, let us offer praise and thanksgiving continually unto God for His measure of grace, for what we are and what we are able to achieve are not the works of our self-effort or self-righteousness, but because of the manifestation of God’s grace in and through “our Lord Jesus Christ” by faith… With that said, there will be times when we succumb to the devil’s blows regarding our individual victory in and through “our Lord Jesus Christ” by faith. It is then we must repent towards God and return to faith in and through “our Lord Jesus Christ” for we may be knocked down, but we are by the grace of God never completely knock out, and we can arise from the canvas of defeat and stand and offer sincere praise and (57) …thanks unto God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 Let us pray…
