"Voice of Triumph" Through the praise of children and infants - TopicsExpress

"Voice of Triumph" Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger (Psalm 8:2). Scripture: Psalm 8 Song: “Clap Your Hands All You People” “Mama, don’t be sad, Jesus will take care of you. Look, see the flower, the stem is all bent over, but Jesus keeps the flower beautiful!” Her big blue eyes reflected the innocence of her heart. Absolute trust and open love for God hung in the air, and I gathered Jenna in my arms. Her simple praise had broken my fear. That morning, when I received medical test results calling for a biopsy, a battle began. Cancer ran in my family—but I was too young for this attack! Fear instantly gripped me, and I began to plan my strategy for the months ahead. How quickly my prayers became bargains and pleas with personal motives and agendas attached. I lost my stronghold. Children sing “Jesus Loves Me” because they know He does. There is no labor to earn it, no bargain to make; their praise bubbles up from simple honesty. And when I lay down my battle plans and pick up a childlike trust, then my praise becomes pure, and strongholds are set against the enemy. My praise becomes a shout to God with a voice of triumph. Almighty God and Father, help me simply to know that You are my eternal stronghold. Strengthen my belief and unreserved trust in You so that my praise will be as pure and innocent as a child’s. It is that praise that brings my victory. Through Christ, amen."
