❗❗WARNING - CUSSING EXISTS IN THIS POST❗❗ (And we apologize in advance if this offends anyone but we felt that the need to get this message out, outweighs the offensiveness. And people tend to listen to celebrities) A friend shared this and I am going to take this opportunity to speak out on this - I know, you are all terribly surprised! First - the collar that he had on Freddy is actually a cat collar and it is meant to come loose if the cat gets caught on a fence or something, so that it doesnt kill the cat. It is called a break away collar. IT IS NOT MEANT FOR A DOG ON A LEASH!! With that said, shitty adjustable collars are why we no longer allow any collars that do not buckle (like your belt) on dogs over 25#. We found that too many people were buying shitty collars with a crappy snap closure or that did not stay properly adjusted to fit the dogs neck and would come off, just when you needed the collar to be on the dog. There are good brands of adjustable collars on the market - in fact, we have a whole lot of them on sale at a great price here at our shop. They are great collars made by Up Country but since we had to make the requirement across the board, we have discounted what we have in stock. As good as these and some other brands of adjustable collars are, a snap collar on a large powerful dog that is being walked on a leash in a busy area (especially if not very well trained) is just a bad idea! Buckle collars stay on your dog and do not loosen. Be smart and put a good quality, properly fitting collar that is appropriate for your dog on them. Their safety equals your happiness!
