I understand the appeal of hits like Gangnam Style and the incessant playing of the disco hit Funky Town from 1979; I even own KC and the Sunshine Band Albums. But this is just SAD. Music has turned to complete CRAP. My musical mentor, Barth Bennitt, always taught that music doesnt change society, music is a reflection of societal change. And what a HORRIBLE society weve become. Good thing Barth and I couldnt see into the future and read this headline: Gangnam Style forces YouTube to upgrade counter. [tag: Jan Bennitt , Amanda Wallace ] Psy’s hit single Gangnam Style has racked up so many views that YouTube has had to change the way it shows view counts. The K-pop song was first uploaded in 2012, and has since garnered more than two billion views with its famous dance routine. The upgrade sees YouTube’s counter switch from a 32-bit integer to a 64-bit one. A blog post by YouTube states: “We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views), but that was before we met PSY. Gangnam Style has been viewed so many times we had to upgrade to a 64-bit integer (9,223,372,036,854,775,808)!” The new counter also includes an animation of spinning numbers when hovered over. https://youtube/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0
