#WCW 4 years ago,about a week before putting off the Rock the runway fashion show a high school friend of mine living in New York called me asking if her daughter could be included in the junior section of our charity event . She was young and already passionate about giving back and so she flew in just to lend her support. She came, she blazed the runway and she left an impression so great that her mark would not be easily forgotten. Her academic path since was hard to overlook, she was/is impressive and everything she tackled ,looking from afar for me, was done with exception ,commitment and a burning love that was impossible to miss..Earlier this year I was privy to see her vision and the feverish work she had to do in order to bring that dream and vision to life. Who would support would be there for the ride, who didnt, would fall on the wayside because she was as dedicated as she was focused, and nothing would derail her from making it happen. The youth summit vision, as with all visions require a lot of work,and Im sure its now a team effort ,but most times in life it only takes one person to make a start in order to make a difference. Shanice Ive been meaning to tell you how inspired, moved and proud I am by you, not just for this initiative ,and your drive and bravery ;which alone would be enough, but for just how brightly you let your light shine ,giving others the permission to do the same . It is said and I agree ,that each of us do have a personal calling thats as unique as fingerprints -and the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard and allowing the energy of the universe to lead you .... I know your mom and Dad are super proud and stoked as parents cause I know as an outsider looking in, I am exceptionally so.
