Works closely with desktop services and applications analysts to ensure workstations and peripherals are functioning properly with all installed applications. Assists other Workstation Analysts in team efforts as needed, and act as backup for fellow Workstation Analysts on the team. Constantly updates and keeps current inventory of PCs and peripherals in assigned area. Continuously seeks to improve and strengthen technical and interpersonal skills. Responsible for providing second tier support of assigned systems and performing tasks related to project completion including analysis, testing, documentation, problem resolution, and implementation of devices and supported applications. Provides input into project plans. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Receives general supervision from the Director, Program Director or management designate. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: *Demonstrated ability to work on personal computers and peripherals in a complex and integrated network environment. *Demonstrated ability to interact with users in a courteous manner. *Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems in stressful conditions. *Demonstrated excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills. *Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. *Must demonstrate a self-motivatedwork ethic. *Demonstrated experience with testing and evaluating applications. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: *Bachelors of Science, Associates Degree or technical diploma in Computer Science orInformation Science required. *Minimum of 4 years experience supporting microcomputer-based word processing, spreadsheet and database packages may substitute a degree. *Experience with multiple Microsoft OS, Apple OS, and microcomputer communication software preferred. *Travel to in state and out of state offices required. *Occasional overnight travel required. *Current Pennsylvania Driver’s License required. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: *Work is typically performed in an office environment. *Moving equipment that may exceed 50 lbs is involved.
