***WOW*** Christmas time is always very slow for adoptions. People go on annual leave - adding to their family is not a priority. We at PFT were prepared for that. We took in extra dogs also, adding to the workload of more numbers. What we werent prepared for, was that every single one of our 6 foster dogs in care was to be in their FUREVER homes by mid January. 5 of them have left. 5 of them are with 4 new Mummys. Those 4 Mummys all adore their new companions & no dogs will be coming back. 1 is yet to leave. Preperation a are under way to book flights, arrange a last vet visit, prepare the suitcase & say our goodbyes. Papa Smurf will be leaving The Farm next Thursday & beginning his new life in Melbourne with his new retired Mummy. He will get lots of one-on-one love & have companionship 24/7. Hes a lucky boy. Mummy Smiggle is besotted. Mummys Itty Bitty & Beanie Boo cant believe they waited so long to get a pair of PFT Crustys. Mummy Bolt is in awe of her handsome, charming, well mannered sweet puppy. Mummy Santa Paws - she said his sad eyes make her heart melt & that hes so perfect. I always give myself a pat on the back with each adoption. There is always SO much work involved with each dog, especially the numerous vet consultations & visits & commitments with our delicate seniors. But rather than give myself a mere pat on the back - Im going to slow things right down & not rush out for more dogs. Jett - The Builders Dog returns next week & our home will once again become a minefield of renovations. Its challenging enough with our own dogs - let alone new dogs whom we dont know well. Mr Magoo keeps me busy with our daily walks, medication, bathing, etc. and hes come a long way just in the last couple of days.
