(WWE Royal Rumble 2015: Superstars Most Likely to Steal Show During Battle Royal, PLUS LIVE STREAM FOR SUNDAY!) has been published on The Riot Army With 30 competitors all aiming to be the last man standing, it can be difficult for entrants in the Royal Rumble to stand out. That being said, certain WWE Superstars can almost make it look easy. The best of the best will have all eyes on them whether there’s two men in the ring or 20. It takes a special kind of talent to do that—but as we head into WrestleMania season, it takes something special to deserve a spot on the card. Here are some of the wrestlers you can bet are set to make their mark on the Rumble come Sunday night. Kofi Kingston The Rumble match exploits of Kofi Kingston are part of the pay-per-view’s many traditions at this point; we’ve seen him escape elimination via increasingly tenuous methods over the years, and it never fails to provoke a strong response from fans. This year, Kofi has something that he hasn’t had before: his New Day colleagues, Big E and Xavier Woods. We know that the trio is teaming up to take on Cesaro, Tyson Kidd and Adam Rose on the pre-show, but that doesn’t necessarily take the members out of contention from entering the Rumble match. If they do end up in the match, there’s plenty of scope for Kingston to use his teammates to pull off a whole new level of acrobatics to avoid being eliminated. If he can use a desk chair to help him stay in the running, two other men should be all the help he needs. As well as providing an interesting bit of action in the match itself, it could be a good way of showing off The New Day. The trio has a lot of talent in the ring and is bursting with charisma; hopefully, its slapdash initial presentation won’t scupper its bright future as a group. Bray Wyatt The last year has been filled with ups and downs for Bray Wyatt. He was a victim of John Cena, lost his family and engaged with a lengthy but vapid feud with Dean Ambrose. Now, his future looks unclear—but we’ll perhaps know where he’s headed after the Royal Rumble. Wyatt is the sort of larger-than-life character that tends to be wheeled out for WrestleMania. There are a plethora of options for his opponent at the Showcase of Immortals, but we simply haven’t been given any hints as to who he’ll face as of yet. The Royal Rumble is typically the place we see these feuds come into focus. Few would select Wyatt as a pick for the winner of the battle royal, but it’s a fairly safe estimation that he’ll do well in the match, and by the end of it, we’ll see the outline of his plans for the Road to WrestleMania. Wyatt might even be a good pick to rack up the most eliminations in this year’s match. He’s a star of the future, but he’s suffered so many losses over the past year that he needs some serious rebuilding. With any luck, the Royal Rumble will mark the start of that process. Dolph Ziggler When all is said and done, it would be much more of a surprise if Dolph Ziggler didn’t steal the show this Sunday than it will be when he does. They call him the Showoff for a reason; he’s electric in the ring, and he brings his best game every night. That said, the Royal Rumble is a perfect scenario for Ziggler. Look back to his Survivor Series 2014 performance; he’s at his best when he’s just hanging in there, teasing his fans with the prospect of him managing to pull off an upset. This year, Ziggler enters the Rumble with an outside chance of winning. He’s been on something of a tear over the past few months, rounding out his skills in a way that’s seen the masses jump on the Ziggler train in greater numbers than ever before. Plenty of people will be hoping to see Ziggler win big this Sunday—and even if he comes up short in the end, he’s sure to make it an entertaining trip. Here’s hoping that Ziggler pulls entry No. 1 and has a long night ahead of him. Someone from NXT We don’t yet know who will represent NXT in the 2015 Royal Rumble, but the odds are good that at least one member of the developmental roster will be there. Last year, we saw Rusev make his main roster debut at the event, and the year before, Bo Dallas did similar. However, NXT has changed over the course of the last 12 months. Then, we hadn’t even seen its first live event—and we perhaps didn’t know just how well things were going to turn out for the up-and-comers training down at the Performance Center. After four excellent live specials, NXT has firmly established itself as some of the best wrestling anywhere in the world—and as such, expectations are higher than ever. Luckily, the talent is more than up to the task, and there are plenty of options for an explosive entrant into this year’s Royal Rumble. We’ve seen the response that Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville got from their excellent appearances on Raw and Main Event. Relative newcomers to NXT like Hideo Itami and Finn Balor could also contribute a lot to the battle royal even with just a short cameo. WWE has the opportunity to add another interesting element to the Rumble—not to mention raising awareness of the best in-ring product it’s putting out at the moment. It’s a real win-win. The only question is, who deserves the nod? There’s plenty of talent to choose from, and they’re all used to an environment where opportunities are to be clasped with both hands. NXT is a competitive place to be—believe that whoever gets the chance to enter the Royal Rumble will make the most of it.
