#WWOSYellowknife WALKING WITH OUR SISTERS Yellowknife AFFECTED FAMILIES TRAVEL ASSISTANCE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION is Monday, January 12, 2015. January 1, 2015 The Walking With Our Sisters (WWOS) Yellowknife Organizing Committee has secured funding to help bring affected family members to the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Center for the Memorial Exhibit in January. Funding for travel assistance has been made possible by a disbursement from the Victims Assistance Fund by the Minister of Justice on a recommendation from the Victims Assistance Committee of the NWT. The NWT Native Women’s Association, on behalf of Walking With Our Sisters Yellowknife, will act as the main contact for applicants and will be responsible for the distribution of funds to affected families. Due to limited funds, distribution of funding will be on a first come-first-serve basis and by application only.
