::Warning to Small Biz Owners:: Beware when using Square squareup to process payments from clients, or customers. Not only is their customer service absolutely horrible, it is only via email, and there is no phone number for you to call them if anything happens. After using them with no problem for months now they tried to keep money a client paid me on hold for 30 days. I never had any problems at all whatsoever before. I was completely floored when this happened. It seems that At anytime they can flag your account (as they did with me) and even though I uploaded various documentation to them which included: - My Business License - Articles of Incorporation for my LLC - The IRS Form for my company - A Copy of the signed Contract/Proposal from my client - A copy of the invoice I sent my client - Bank statements dating 4 months from my business account - My Drivers License - And the amount of hairs i have left on my head (Sarcastic Joke) they still wanted to keep a hold on the funds and told me I could still use their service to process payments but that I was selected (due to my amount of transactions) to wait for 30 days until I could get the money into my bank. After countless emails back and forth (since they wont take phone calls) I quite simply went into the account, refunded the money to the client, cancelled the transaction I had pending with another client, and used paypal. SMH. An Absolute nightmare. Not to mention embarrassing to explain to a client the situation. ::SIGH:: Word of caution: If a company is processing your money and they dont have a number for you to call them, then pay the extra costs and go with a firmly established, reputable, company. For now I will continue to use paypal but am in talks with my bank to setup a payment portal through them to use alongside with paypal as well. From now on??? Its either First Data Mobile Pay via my Huntington National Bank or Paypal. Never again. Funny thing is, I googled Square PAyment Complaints and there are thousands of people having issues with getting their money. smh. One poor guy, A contractor bounced numerous checks with his bank because of this, and ultimately had to dissolve his business because after 90 DAYS they still had not released his funds. BEWARE FOLKS... BEWARE... All that seems too easy and convenient can be a headache at the end. -_- #BALDMANFRUSTRATION
