...Waterspouts or brief tornadoes possible in northwest Wisconsin into the evening... from the US National Weather Service Duluth Minnesota We are just starting to receive some preliminary information about a possible waterspout late this afternoon just off the coast of Ashland. While the thunderstorms across northwestern Wisconsin are fairly weak...there will be some limited potential for brief Waterspouts or tornadoes for a short time this evening. The atmosphere is not conducive to producing our typical supercell thunderstorm with long lived tornadoes...but brief and short lived weak tornadoes may occur with nearly any of the thunderstorms this evening. This is a unique situation that occurs a few times each summer...but the threat should diminish gradually as temperatures cool this evening. Just keep an extra eye on the sky this evening and if you are able to report to the National Weather Service please let us know.
