And I can imagine there’s a lot of people out there wondering how much of a society we’re living in at all.” -Jon Stewart This #EricGarner decision took a minute to sink in for me, because it truly is unfathomable. I woke up with a sick and anxious feeling today. What are WE, meaning ALL of us, going to do? My head is still processing all of the tragedy and loss of human life that has been brought to the forefront recently, and it hurts my soul. To have people KILLED, unjustly, and to have other human beings not CARE??? It really brings tears to my eyes. Parents are burying sons, children are burying Fathers, and some of us have the audacity to try and explain it away??? We are a BROKEN society and it really makes me feel sick. Although I do believe that race definitely is a key component in these recent cases, HUMAN LIFE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR. The people that are supposed to protect those lives (police, supreme courts, etc) sadly dont see value in them. No accountability = No change
