We tend to think of Our God in technical terms. We think of Him in terms of right and wrong. We think of Him as a judge. We even think of Him in terms of grace and law. We forget that He is not like an idol made of porcelain, or wood, or plastic. He sees! He hears! He feels! His thoughts towards you outnumber the grains of sand! His thoughts toward you are thoughts of love. Before a word is on your lips He knows it. He knows what you need before you ask! He knows the number of the hairs on your head! Before you were born He knew the number of your days! He keeps your tears in a bottle! He is attentive to your prayer! He knows when you rise up! He knows when you sit down! He rejoices over you in His inmost being! He would have you reconciled to Him. He would have you free from condemnation. You are restored from the status of a servant in bondage to that of a free Son who resides in the household of the Father. He is your dad and you are an heir, an heir of God and a fellow heir with Christ! Perfect love casts out fear. This is the message of the gospel.
