Have You Said Thank You Today? Written by Rick Renner Take a moment today to acknowledge and be grateful for the little things - the small gestures of kindness and favour that God has expressed though familiar and even unknown people whove touched your life. Its amazing how meaningful and rich life becomes when we practice an attitude of gratitude for every good gift God has given. Happy Thanksgiving! I cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. (Eph. 1:15) When is the last time you gave thanks from your heart for the loved ones God has placed in your life? The phrase give thanks in Ephesians 1:15 comes from the Greek word eucharisteo, a compound of the words eu and charis. The word eu means good or well. It denotes a general good disposition or an overwhelmingly good feeling about something. The word charisteo is from charis, which is the Greek word for grace or freely granted favour. When these two words are compounded into one, they form the word eucharisteo. This compound word describes an outpouring of grace and of wonderful feelings that freely flow from the heart in response to someone or something. This is the word Paul used when he gave thanks for the Ephesian church. In fact, in nearly all his epistles, Paul used eucharisteo when he gave thanks for people he loved. For instance, Paul used this word in Ephesians 1:15 when he said, I cease not to give thanks for you.... This means that when Paul thought of the Ephesian church, wonderful feelings of thankfulness would well up in his heart for them. The Greek carries this idea in Ephesians 1:15: Thanking God for you is so easy- it just flows out of my heart every time I think of you. In fact, I never take a break from letting God know how I feel about you. In Colossians 1:3, Paul uses the same Greek word when he says, We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you. In First Thessalonians 1:2, he again uses the same Greek word when he prays similarly for the Thessalonian believers: We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers. In Second Thessalonians 1:3, he uses this word again when he writes, We are bound to thank God always for you.... The fact that Paul used the word eucharistia when he prayed for his dearest friends reminds us that we must be thankful for the relationships God has put in our lives. Whenever we think of our closest circle of friends, a deep sense of gratefulness, thankfulness, and appreciation should well up within us! So when youre praying for others, I encourage you to stop for a moment and reflect on all God has done in your life through those who are closest to you. When you realize how valuable those relationships have been to you, youll be able to freely, joyfully, and unreservedly thank God for such precious friends! Become Sensitive Again Written by Kenneth Copeland Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christs sake hath forgiven you (Eph. 4:31-32). Years ago I was in Detroit, and I met a woman who was raised in a Communist-bloc country. While I was visiting with her, a news broadcast came on. And as we sat there listening to it, suddenly tears came to her eyes. Whats the matter? I asked. Although I hadnt noticed it, the news commentator had said something derogatory about the president. I dont like to hear anybody talk about this country like that she said. I dont care whether its true or not. I dont want to hear it. The newscasters comment had slipped right by me. But it had brought tears to her eyes. Why? Because she had a sensitive heart where this country is concerned. We need to be more like that dear lady when it comes to our pastors, our teachers, our evangelists and even our fellow believers. We need to realize that our own insensitivity has driven the anointing of the Holy Spirit from many of our lives and our churches. We need to realize that the license weve given ourselves to criticize other members of the Body of Christ has weakened us all. What will strengthen us again? The power and the anointing of the Holy Spirit that falls on every sensitive and seeking heart. I urge you to regain the tender heart you once had. Remove the callouses within you by repentance, by a commitment to live the law of love, by a renewed devotion to the Word and by fellowship with your Father. Dont allow the condition of your heart to hold back the Spirit of God. Become sensitive again! CONFESSION FOR OUR PASTORS Father God, we thank you that our Pastors are filled with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. They are fulfilling Your perfect purpose and plan for their lives. They hear the voice of the Good Shepherd and the voice of a stranger they will not follow. We pray that the spirit of wisdom, knowledge, counsel, might and understanding will guide them in every meeting, activity and conversation they are engaged in. We thank you that they give themselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. We thank you that they are protected from all hurt, harm, danger and accident. They are the redeemed of the Lord and in covenant with Jehovah God, therefore sickness and disease, poverty and lack, and fear and oppression have no power over them. They walk in divine health and are physically fit. Their souls prosper because they meditate in Gods Word day and night. Our Pastors enjoy their free time without interruption and are refreshed and rested for every days work, for their youth is renewed like the eagles. No weapon that is formed against them shall prosper and every lying tongue risen against them shall be silenced. Every business deal works to their favour and advantage, and your blessings overtake them because they hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord their God. We cancel every attack of the wicked one to bring deception, distractions, hindrances and temptations into their lives. Devil, you are bound and have no authority over our Pastors, their family or their possessions. We cover our Pastors with the blood of Jesus, and release the angels of God to minister for them and bring them into Gods best every day of their lives. Father, we thank You that You have opened doors of utterance for them to proclaim boldly the gospel with signs following. They are teaching believers how to live independent of this world system and have dominion over it. They have clarity of vision, unimpeded by ungodly sources or input. They are always in the right place at the right time with the right information and the right understanding. All hidden things of darkness are revealed to them and are made manifest by the light. The anointing of increase is upon their lives and whatsoever they do will prosper. We thank you that their family is of one heart and in one accord, and are enjoying the days of heaven upon the earth. Their seed is mighty upon the earth and blessed, and wealth and riches are in their house. They fellowship with leaders of like precious faith and has set a new standard of excellence for the body of Christ. In Jesus Name, Amen. Bless you, Pastor Paul C.
